Tensions rise as senators await FBI report


As tensions flared Wednesday on Capitol Hill as senators await the FBI’s delivery of a further background check on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh regarding Christine Blasey Ford’s allegation that he sexually assaulted her 36 years ago when both were in high school.

A copy could be delivered to the White House and another to Capitol Hill as early as Wednesday.

Earlier Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said in a speech on the Senate floor that he and his colleagues were being harassed.

“One of our colleagues and his family were effectively run out of a restaurant in recent days,” McConnell
